This privacy policy explains how I, Ian Sampson, the sole proprietor responsible for hushaudioapp.com and its associated software applications, collect and process your personal data. I take great care to safeguard your information and have designed both my website and my software with user privacy in mind.
What data do I collect?
If you sign up for my email newsletter, I collect your email address. If you purchase a license to one of my products, I may collect other personal information necessary for processing your order, including but not limited to your name, email address, city, region, and country.
How do I collect your data?
When you subscribe to my email newsletter, you enter your email address via a signup form connected to MailerLite, a GDPR-compliant, third-party email automation service responsible for storing your email address and distributing my newsletter to subscribers. You can read their privacy policy here.
When you make a purchase, you follow a link to a checkout page hosted by Lemon Squeezy, a third-party merchant of record that processes your payment and provides you with download links to my software. I can access the personal information described above (including name, email address, city, region, and country) by securely logging into my Lemon Squeezy account. I cannot access any of your banking or other sensitive data. Lemon Squeezy has their own privacy policy governing their use of your data, which you can read here.
How will I use your data?
I collect your data so that I can:
- Email you with news, updates, and special offers
(if you sign up for my newsletter) - Process your order
(if you purchase a license to one of my products)
Besides the service providers mentioned above (MailerLite, LemonSqueezy), I do not share your data with any other third parties.
How do I store your data?
I do not store any of your personal data on my own servers. My website, hushaudioapp.com, does not have a backend database of its own.
When you subscribe to my newsletter, MailerLite stores your email address at a data storage center located in the European Union, which carries an information storage security certificate (ISO 27001). When you make a purchase, the data you provide during the checkout process is managed by Lemon Squeezy and their own service providers. You can more about how they store this data in their privacy policy.
Marketing
If you sign up for my newsletter, I may send you information about products and services that I think you might like. If you have agreed to receive marketing emails, you may always opt out at a later date.
You have the right at any time to stop me from contacting you for marketing purposes. If you no longer wish to be contacted, please click the Unsubscribe link at the bottom of my newsletter, or email me at ian@hushaudioapp.com.
What are your data protection rights?
Every user is entitled to the following:

Does my website use cookies?
Cookies are text files placed on your computer to collect standard Internet log information and visitor behavior information. When you visit my website, I do not collect any information from you through cookies or similar technology.
Instead, I use a service called Fathom Analytics for my website analytics, which does not use cookies and complies with the GDPR, ePrivacy (including PECR), COPPA, and CCPA. Using this privacy-friendly analytics software, your IP address is only briefly processed, and I have no way of identifying you, nor is any of your personal data stored over time. Does my software collect any of your data?
My desktop software does not collect, process, or transmit your data to myself or any other party. My software runs locally on your device, without connecting to the internet or sending any data to the cloud. All of your personal data, including audio data processed with my software, remains on your device and under your control.
This holds true for all legitimate copies of my software, downloaded directly from my website (for free trials) or from Lemon Squeezy (for paid versions). All legitimate copies of my software, including free trials, are code-signed with my Apple developer certificate to ensure their validity.
However, I am not responsible for any illegitimate copies of my software obtained from other sources, such as BitTorrents or piracy websites. I strongly advise users to avoid such copies, not only because they infringe upon my copyright, but also because they may have been modified to contain spyware or malware. Such modifications could compromise the security of your device and transmit your personal data to malicious third parties.
